The location was superb, less than 5 minutes from city center and river. Service very friendly, host met me when I arrived. Breakfast made to order, could choose either warm or cold and was prepared at a time of my liking. Room was spacious despite being small, had a couch and a desk with chair. Private bathroom. All clean. Air conditioning worked very well. Amenities provided. Free, private parking on site. Very quiet. Great value.

Museums are close on Mondays.
Museums are close on Mondays. The Churches are under renovation. Try the Pistachio Ice Cream in the small ice cream shop (Caffe Verganano) near the main street going to the Tiszabridge, it's delicious. Streets are very clean and not so much people around. The place is quiet, calm and tranquil. Take time to check out the fountain with healing water outside Hotel Tisza and Thermalbath.ReginaHungary - 10Scored 10
Travelling for work, I stayed multiple nights in Szolnok.
Travelling for work, I stayed multiple nights in Szolnok. We tried some excellent places for dinner. The Russian restaurant and Bajnok Ettram were quirky and brilliant finds, with excellent food and service. The waters reflection of the footbridge lights, over the Tisza, is beautiful. A real highlight when out running in the evening, a refreshing, flat, pedestrian friendly river bank route. Nice place with nice people.

I liked the quaintness of the city.
I liked the quaintness of the city. There is a lot to do and see. Restaurants are really good, the food is super delicious. Try the Halász Csárda! But that was just one that I remember since all of them had great food and great service. People are shy but once you start speaking with them they open up. Speaking Hungarian helps, which I do, so maybe it swayed my thoughts on that point but try to speak politely and it will go miles in that country in general.

I like the Rose garden design and its surroundings.
I like the Rose garden design and its surroundings. The walk along the river was excellent with lovely views of the 2 bridges across the river. In the evening it was really nice to see the young people having social time and relaxing. The view of the river confluence was marvellous. Getting around Szolnok was easy as many of the important places are within walking distance. I had lovely dinner at the Galeria restaurant, where the staff were really welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful. I wish to visit the Aviation museum on my next visit to Szolnok.
